Trade Account Specialist, East Coast

We’re looking for a dynamic, self-starter to join our Trade team, working remotely in New York City. Candidates for this role will maintain and grow an existing book of business, while prospecting and delivering new business for the Brand in a defined territory. To be successful in this role, candidates must possess strong relationship-building abilities, along with an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for design, and a commitment to best in class customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales

  • Build out assigned region’s Trade business, hitting or exceeding assigned Sales targets.
  • Prospect for new business on a weekly basis utilizing company programs and tools.
  • Establish relationships with key design accounts and drive y-o-y growth.
  • Cultivate relationships with regional Trade Associations taking advantage of networking opportunities.
  • Manage all correspondence with the Designer Circle members within the assigned territory.
  • Meet weekly and monthly call metrics and new registration goals.
  • Travel regularly to meet with top design accounts in specific regions.
  • Close the sale, writing a quote and following up with customer.
  • Provide regular updates on business for assigned region including sales, comp, top design accounts by sales in this region TY vs LY, top categories and new registrations.

Customer Service

  • Act as the face of the Serena & Lily brand, providing a first-rate Customer experience, issue resolution, and design consultation.
  • Develop strong product information and design knowledge to show and explain merchandise features and benefits.
  • Build strong relationship with Customer Care and partner to oversee the processing of Designer orders within established service levels.
  • Alert team & management to customer issues & trends.
  • Approve new applications.
  • Send updated swatch collateral to all designers.
  • Follow up on all estimates.
  • Assist with returns, replacements, refunds, and other post-sale transactions.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • 2-3 years outside sales experience with a strong emphasis in customer service and delivery of set goal plan.
  • Previous experience or education in interior design preferred.
  • A passion for delivering exceptional service, with all of the personal qualities that this requires: warmth, empathy, optimism, team orientation, and conscientiousness.
  • Creative problem-solving capabilities, ownership of issues, and excellent time management and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competency with Point of Sale and Order Management software.
  • 4 year Bachelor degree preferred.
