    7" x 9.5"

    Origin: Germany

    Condition: Vintage.

Entitled "Hirzwiese from Rotenberg" this 1932 oil on canvas board scene is by German-born painter, printmaker, and art restorer Carl Barnaš (1879-1953). He studied in Berlin and at Academie Julien-Colarossi in Paris. Barnas moved to Quito, Ecuador in the 1930s and taught at the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes. He opened an art restoration studio, restoring hundreds of 17th and 18th century religious colonial paintings. Barnas painted botanical illustrations and plein air landscapes in Europe and Ecuador’s remote countryside. Framed in a contemporary wood frame with silver leaf face and maple grey wash sides.

Hand-picked by Serena & Lily from Lost Art Salon's Collection, a renowned San Francisco-based resource for original 20th century works of modernist, vintage, antique, and contemporary art. We like to think of the Lost Art Salon pieces chosen for our Serena & Lily Art Collection as being “twice curated”.

All art sales are final. Art only available to ship within the United States.
