Ben Junta is an artist who grew up influenced by the Bay Area Figurative Painters, notably Richard Diebenkorn and David Park. He also has deep roots in the Bay Area based painters of the early 20th century known as the “Society of Six”. He has studied art at Occidental College, UC Davis, Middlebury College, The Santa Fe Art Institute, The Cape Cod School of Art, and the Vermont Studio Center. He lives in Hermosa Beach, California with a view of the ocean and surfs near this bounty often, always learning new things from the infinite colors surrounding him whether on land or in the ocean. His landscape and seascape works attempt to pay homage to this meeting of land and sea.
