    Origin: New York

    Condition: Vintage.

    Entitled "New York" this 1947 pastel on paper scene is by Santa Fe artist, Seymour Tubis (1919-1993). Tubis studied at the Art Students League with Hans Hofmann (1946-1949). He exhibited in Paris in 1950 and won praise from Georges Braque. He was also chair of the Fine Art Department at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe (1963-1980). Signed and titled in the lower right. Framed in a contemporary painted wood frame with rubbed gold finish using linen archival matting behind conservation clear glass.
