This 1971 colored pencil and graphite abstracted landscape is by New York/San Francisco artist Gary L. Shaffer (1936-2001). Shaffer trained with Hans Hoffman in the late 1950s and became an influential member of the Printmakers' Workshop in Manhattan. Shaffer moved to San Francisco in the late 1970s. His works are in the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Detroit Institute of Arts, amongst many others. Estate stamped lower right. Framed in a restored vintage wood frame with decorative carving details using white double archival matting behind conservation clear glass.
