A rustic room with a seemingly "boring" basic metal bedframe. The question was posed: what can we do to make this bed more interesting and textured?
The Materials:
Your boring old bedframe. The simpler the better. Tubular metal designs are the easiest to work with, but any shape will do.
Rope! (The amount depends on the thickness you choose--the thicker the rope, the less you'll need).
Standard Hardware-store C-clamp.
Paint brush and heavy adhesive (we used Gorilla Glue).
How-To Tips:
Measure the areas that you plan to cover, then multiply by 4 to determine an approximate length of rope. We suggest buying more than you think you'll need--extra rope is never a bad thing to have around the house and it's a pain to run out half-way through.
To begin, use paint brush to coat the first 6" of frame with adhesive glue, then wrap rope snugly along the frame, avoiding gaps. Work in 6" increments, wrapping until you've worked your way around the entire frame.
