Michalec's current work is a commentary about women's creativity, consumerism, and idealism. Using leftover house paint from decorating projects collected from stay at home moms, Michalec paints furniture, rugs, and home decor. Arranging and rearranging these objects is symbolic of the idyllic home that both she and many strive to attain. In her work, the objects she uses have become a narrative of desires of both the past and present. Michalec lives and works in Dayton, OH.
