Site Merchandising Manager

The Site Merchandising Manager is responsible for ecommerce site initiatives in order to help Serena & Lily meet its sales and margin goals. This role requires a passion for our products as well as a detailed focus on prioritization and implementation of site and merchandising goals. He/she will take a holistic view of the desired brand experience and seasonal themes, partnering closely with merchants, ecommerce site management, and digital marketing business owners to deliver and optimize the front-end customer experience of the site. This is a great role for a dual brained person who likes both aesthetics and enjoys using numerical data to support hypothesis around customer user experience.


Merchandising & Content Management:

  • Develop and execute the customer experience as it relates to site product presentation.
  • Develop seasonal merchandising strategies and plans in conjunction with merchant team and seasonal brand messages.
  • Participate in DTC merchant team seasonal product development and inventory planning.
  • Create web product presentation - stories, lead features, product pages, categories, and navigation.
  • Develop and manage the merchandising calendar of product launches, promotions and email, coordinating cross-functional team buy-in and approvals.
  • Partner with Creative on plans and delivery of assets, writing briefs for site needs to support merchandise stories/ campaigns, reviewing assets and securing approvals.
  • Coordinate with merchant team on product page presentation and needs.
  • Facilitate product optimizations: ranking, cross-sell, up-sells.
  • Develop strategies for targeting customer segments, and testing new merchandising strategies.
  • Aid SEO optimization.
  • Execute QA on all new features, assets and seasonal changes on the site.

Reporting/ Analytics:

  • Create and manage site dashboard for key site paths, categories and funnels suggesting optimization opportunities.
  • Analyze key site metrics across the site to understand demand patterns and to make site optimization recommendations accordingly when/ if necessary.
  • Analyze new site merchandising initiatives and the impact on key metrics.
  • Assist with Google Analytics tagging structure as it relates to reporting funnels.
  • Communicate learning’s and next steps.


  • 5-6 years minimum related work experience.
  • Previous online merchandising experience required.
  • Experience managing a small team preferred.
  • Preferred experience with omni-channel retail company.
  • Desire to learn and grow in a fast paced, start-up environment.
  • Willingness to roll-up sleeves and work in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail, highly organized.
  • Systems and Tools Acumen: Posses facility in Excel and Powerpoint and 3rd party tools Google Analytics and various reporting interfaces.
  • Analytic Skills: Ability to think objectively, interpret and present meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Quality: Able to use rigorous logic and methods to solve problems with effective solutions.
  • Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad group of business partners.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage and maximize relationships with 3rd party vendors.
