"Expressionist California Forest" by Jack FreemanAbstract
Oil on canvas, vintage frame.
25" x 37"
This 2002 oil on canvas scene is by San Francisco painter Jack Freeman (1938-2014). Freeman studied at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta, landscape and figure drawing with Oskar Kokoschka’s School of Vision in Austria, and received his MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in the late 1960s. Freeman’s style varied between Abstract Expressionism, the Bay Area Figurative Movement, and plein air landscape painting. Framed with a hand built vintage pine wood lath frame by the artist.
Hand-picked by Serena & Lily from Lost Art Salon's Collection, a renowned San Francisco-based resource for original 20th century works of modernist, vintage, antique, and contemporary art. We like to think of the Lost Art Salon pieces chosen for our Serena & Lily Art Collection as being “twice curated”."
