Entitled "Mimosa (Blue)" this 1949 oil on linen was included in Paris in the first solo show by Santa Fe artist, Seymour Tubis (1919-1993). Tubis studied at the Art Students League with Hans Hofmann (1946-1949). He exhibited in Paris in 1950 and won praise from cubist painter, Georges Braque. He was also chair of the Fine Art Department at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe (1963-1980). Framed in an antique wood frame with distressed cream and grey finish with a linen filet.
