Doak’s subjects vary from still life to seascapes, and style changes from impressionist to abstract depending on her mood. She explains much of her work was influenced by Henri Matisse, Elmer Bischoff, Richard Diebenkorn, and Louise Herreshoff. More recently, she has taken an interest in the work of abstract artist, Mark Rothko. She now lives and paints full time from her home studio in Baltimore, with her husband and two kids.
