    Julie Hansen is a Kansas City based artist, who's work is collected nationally and internationally. Her art is inspired by her travels, most notably her time living abroad in Melbourne, Australia. Julie spent two years studying and painting en plein air the sea and the exotic vegetation. She returned home, inspired to paint a new series of colorful abstract work, some also representing boat imagery. The artist layers shapes and vividly clean colors, creating a sublime balance of form and gestural marks on canvas or board. She hopes to inspire the viewer with a deep love and respect for the ocean as well as travel and exploration.

If necessary, oil and acrylic paintings can be cleaned with a damp cloth or by a professional art conserver. Works under glass can be cleaned using a glass cleaner, but avoid harsh chemicals when cleaning works under plexi to prevent surface damage.
