    Laurie Fisher lives and paints in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Maine’s coastal landscape serves as a constant backdrop, influencing the palette and architecture of her paintings. From its first mark, each painting presents a dilemma—how to resolve. Balance is achieved with color, lines, texture, adding and subtracting layers, building and flattening, complicating and then quieting. Laurie’s process is intuitive and tactile, leading to a wide variety of work, though connected through the use of shape, color, and particular marks that show up again and again.
